Ocean Park began as a bible camp and has two camps that are in operation. Established in 1883 as a Methodist Episcopal Church campground, Ocean Park is now considered the ‘heart of the peninsula’.

A red flashing light marks the center of Ocean Park.  Everything here is located ‘from the light’.  In fact, they have only recently started using house numbers.  The Ocean Park Area Chamber of Commerce Office is two blocks east from ‘the light’ on Bay Ave, and all business are more than happy to help you find your way around town.Ocean Park is home to two of the largest grocery stores on the Peninsula, (Okie's Thriftway and Jacks Country Store)Adalaides bookstore, restaurants, (Luigi's, Full Circle and others) public library, galleries and gift shops and a golf course at the edge of town.  You can enjoy coffee or lunch at the beach approach or relax with a glass of wine and a sunset.  Spend time at Jack’s Country Store where you feel like you have stepped back in time while you get lost wondering the aisles. The main attraction, and the reason most people come here, is the shore.  The ocean is just a short walk west of ‘the light’.  Here you are in the center of a grand beach that stretches more than 10 miles in each direction, with homes dotting the sand dunes and the residents enjoying the simplicity of living at the beach.  Life is simple and sweet at the beach.Ocean Park has many festivals throughout the summer for you to enjoy.  To name a few, Garlic Festival in June, Fourth of July Parade and the Rod Run.
