Lions Paw Inn

The Lion's Paw Inn
Bed and Breakfast
Stroll to the Pacific Ocean

Built in 1911 as a large family home, this Craftsman style bungalow served the Long Beach Peninsula as a much needed hospital from 1930 into the 1940’s. The healing spirit still lingers in Seaview at the Lion’s Paw Inn.
As seen in Sunset Magazine, March, 1999
"This one's a classic"
And in "Pacific Coast Highway Traveler's Guide" by Tom Snyder, Author of "Route 66 Traveler's Guide and Roadside Companion"
"Furnished with both taste and whimsey --- and offering superb breakfasts"
"Unpretentious and beautifully maintained" with "hosts extraordinaire"

The original fir and cedar walls create an atmosphere of warmth and a space for rejuvenation and conviviality, serenity and introspection.

The antique pool table, along with the grand stone fireplace in the great room, invite camaraderie, while the uniquely appointed rooms are conducive to comfort and intimacy.

The Lion’s Paw occupies an acre situated within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. The village of Seaview quietly separates, with a neighborhood of Victorian homes, the towns of Ilwaco and Long Beach.

You can go 1.5 miles north to downtown Long Beach and visit the shops and galleries. Walk the sand dunes. Ride a horse on the beach. Bird watch in Leadbetter State Park. Fly a kite where the champions do. Ride a bike on the Dune Trail and watch the Grey Whales spout off shore. Paddle a kayak, we can arrange it. Tread the earth where Lewis & Clark did. Visit the Peninsula's two lighhouses. See one of our many museums and parks. Watch the cranberries grow.

Or, come on back, read a while, converse, have a cup of tea or coffee on the deck or sun porch, may be even take a nap.

Our highest priority is to provide for our guests a warm and welcoming experience within the framework of the quality they deserve.

The fleece bathrobes in each room, our carefully prepared breakfasts, our loaner kites, picnic bags, binoculars, and bird books all reflect our desire to anticipate even the small details that make your stay memorable.

Your hosts, Allen and Michal Miller, invite you to reserve your next stay with them. Please ask about off-season rates.
